John is an industry recognized visionary in Communications and IT. Most recently, John was CTO at Nortel where he was responsible for leading the company's overall R&D strategy and execution and for directing future research across all product portfolios and was the functional leader of Nortel's 12,000 scientists, engineers and designers worldwide.
Prior to joining Nortel, Roese was vice president and CTO for Broadcom Corporation, where he was responsible for the long-term architecture and technical strategy for networking technologies. These technologies included optical, Power over Ethernet (PoE), switching, routing, security, broadband processors, fabrics and software elements.
Before joining Broadcom, Roese served as CTO at Enterasys Networks, which specializes in network security for enterprises. At Enterasys, Roese oversaw the development of the company's technology architectures, including comprehensive Quality of Service, security, management and transport services. Previous to Enterasys, Roese was the CTO of Cabletron Systems, where he was one of the key architects of Cabletron's SecureFast Switching.
John has co-authored a number of IEEE standards and related documents. In 1998, Roese published "Switched LANs: Implementation, Operation, Maintenance" (McGraw Hill). He is the named inventor on 16 granted and pending patents in areas of policy-based networking, location-based networking, routing, switching and network management. April Dunford is a Product Marketing executive with 15 years of experience at both early stage start-ups as well as large global companies. Her specialty is bringing new technology solutions to market.
Prior to joining VersePoint, April was Director of Incubation Marketing and Business Development at Nortel. Before joining Nortel, she spent several years at IBM where she was the head of marketing for IBM's Information Integration products. April was also the worldwide Director of Marketing for Financial Services Products at Siebel Systems and ran Product Marketing at Janna Systems, a startup which was acquired by Siebel.
April is a frequent speaker at industry events and was recently named one of Canada's Top 10 Women in Social Media. She blogs at Rocket Watcher.
Kelly is a service and operations executive with a deep technical background in IT and communications. Kelly was Leader of Strategic Planning, Operations and Governance, for the Office of the CTO at Nortel where he lead advanced research teams focused on strategy for Carrier Networks, Enterprise Systems, and Metro Ethernet Networks.
Previously Kelly was Director of Technology at Enterasys Networks and General Manager of Enterasys’ Worldwide Wireless business. Before Enterasys Kelly was Director of Field Services at Cabletron Systems.
Kelly is a published author, frequent speaker and participates regularly in CIO discussion groups and panels, including being a facilitator of a monthly CIO roundtable.
